Course Description

Students will develop their skills in the installation and management of networks consisting of multiple components and connectivity options
Students will be enrolled into the Cisco Networking Academy Program and use its extensive online curriculum resources with web based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs and preparation for industry standard certifications. This course will be delivered using the Academy’s CCNA curriculum.

Details of Learning Activities

The student will develop skills in the configuration of layer 2 switches. They will enable port security, VLANs, propagation of VLANs using VTP and interVLAN routing. They will setup and test a variety of switch topologies and check the action of Spanning Tree Protocol to prevent layer 2 loops. They will setup and configure a basic wireless network.

The second half of our Cisco CCNA Training program is called ICND

ICND is taught using the Cisco Networking Academy Program modules CCNA3 and CCNA4.

CCNA3 is used to deliver the competencies EEET6396C and COSC5776C
CCNA4 is used to deliver the competency COSC5775C

Overview of Assessment

The student must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent.
Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including online or written tests, a Skills Test which covers skills acquired in lab activities and a final online theory exam.
