Course Description

This unit provides the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to design, implement and evaluate an individual or community oral health promotion program that addresses oral health needs with empathy and insight into behavioral, cultural, socio-economic, environmental and genetic risk factors.
 

Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

HLTIN301A – Comply with infection control policies and procedures in health work
HLTHIR403B – Work effectively with culturally diverse patients, customers and co-workers
TAFEDH005 - Examine, record and assess patient histories and dental records to formulate a dental hygiene treatment plan
