Course Description

This unit deals with the cultural awareness required for effective communication and cooperation with persons of diverse cultures.

Assessment will include an oral presentation, interview patient in the clinic and clinical assessment

Task 1 : Interview a person from a NESB against set questions and a written report 

TAsk:2 Oral presentation using a criteria about an allocated culture and  the health beliefs and impact on culture on health outcomes

Late work that is submitted without an application for an extension (see below) will not be corrected.

• APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME FOR SUBMISSION OF ASSESSABLE WORK - A student may apply for an extension of up to 7 days from the original due date. They must lodge the application form (available http://www1.rmit.edu.au/students/assessment/extension) at least 24 hours before the due date. The application is lodged with the School Admin Office on Level 3 of Dental Hospital. Students requiring longer extensions must apply for SPECIAL CONSIDERATION.

 

• For missed assessments such as exams- you (& your doctor if you are sick) must fill out a special consideration form. This form must be lodged online with supporting evidence prior to, or within, 48 hours of the scheduled time of examination http://www1.rmit.edu.au/students/specialconsideration
Note: Assignments and oral presentations will be marked as Satisfactory/Not satisfactory.
Students may be given the opportunity to resubmit the assignment if this is requested by the teacher and approved by the co-ordinator.
Students are required to achieve a Pass grade in both the exam and assignments to achieve Competence for this course
