Course Description
This unit describes skills and knowledge required to analyse and apply concepts about the social significance of music to one’s own professional practice.
It applies to individuals who require in-depth understanding of the function of music in society, particularly in relation to the cultural and commercial value of music.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment will be made through the following:
- Practical studio based music / sound production project
- Production research & presentation
Assessment Tasks
Assessment is ongoing throughout the course and will include a range of practical and theory components. Full assessment briefs will be provided and can be found on Canvas.
This is a Vocational Education and Training qualification and is assessed for Competency. To be assessed as Competent means you have consistently demonstrated the required knowledge and skills at a standard required in the workplace. To be assessed as Competent in this course, you will need to complete each assessment task to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback from the teacher at the conclusion of each assessment task.

Assessment Summary:

Due Date:
Presentations commence in week 4 of class delivery - see Teaching Schedule. Students must all be ready by this time as allocation will be randomised in the interest of equity. To be completed by Friday 6th November 2020.
