2024 Enrolment Program Structure

For students who commence their study in this program from 1 January 2016 onwards, please note that some courses listed in this structure will have their course marks count toward your program's weighted average mark. Your weighted average mark will determine the honours level of your award once you have completed the program. If a course counts toward your weighted average mark, that fact will be stated in its course guide. In Enrolment Online, after you completed your course enrolment, you will be notified which of the enrolled courses will count toward the weighted average mark

   Year One of Program

AND   Year Two of Program

AND   Year Three of Program

AND   Year Four of Program

AND   Program Option Courses

For more information about the weighted average mark, please click here

To graduate you must complete the following:

  • 384 credit points, a combination of coursework and social work field education.
  • Part-time students should contact the Program Manager to develop an individual program plan.
  • Some courses are available during one semester only. You are required to complete two electives in BH105. You can select from the list of University Electives and courses can be taken in Semester 1, 2 or in Flex offerings. You can also choose from the program option courses listed further below. These are offered at different times throughout the year. You are advised to check both semester and flex offerings for the offering dates and times.

IMPORTANT - Understand your program requirements:

It’s very important to follow the sequence of your program, completing courses as listed, along with the correct number of Electives and/or Program Options. Unless given permission, you can’t enrol in courses which do not contribute to the requirements of the award. Over-enrolling unnecessarily could result in additional tuition fee costs and take you longer to complete your program

If you wish to study additional courses that are not part of your program, you will be unable to study those additional courses and receive Commonwealth support. This is because the additional courses do not contribute towards your degree.  See here for further information.

Additional courses may be studied via Single and Short Courses.

If you’re unsure of what you need to do to complete your program, get in contact with your Program Manager to discuss the remaining requirements of your program.

Some courses within the program have shifted semesters and/or year levels. Please refer to year level student notes for more detail.

For students who commenced their studies prior to 2018:

Please contact the Program manager to develop an individual program plan.

Delivery modes:

The vast majority of course offerings throughout this program are delivered in a standard timetabled mode, where you’ll attend class at the same time each week during the semester. These are indicated below with the code FF [Face-to-Face]. This real-time delivery mode generally has an on-campus experience, however, some classes may be taken virtually/remotely. Details will be provided through the timetabling system closer to the start of semester.

Other delivery modes exist and are indicated below with the following codes:

  • INT-Internet - Classes are taught solely online and may be self-paced.
  • WFF-Work Integrated Learning [Face-to-Face] - Refers to a Work Integrated Learning [Practical Placement] course.
  • ISV-Intensive - Classes not offered every week, and instead they may run over several weekends or Fri-Sat-Sun.
  • WKSH-Workshop - Interactive workshops
