2019 Enrolment Program Structure

To graduate in the Radiation Therapy stream of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) program you must complete the following:

  Year One of Program
 
AND  Year Two of Program
 
AND  Year Three of Program
 

Professional Recognition/Requirements: Upon successful completion of the BP148 program, you are eligible to apply for provisional registration through the Medical Radiation Practitioners Board of Australia (MRPBA). You will also be eligible to apply to undertake a year of supervised practice. The completion of a full 48-week Supervised Practice Program (SPP) is required before you can apply for full accreditation. The SPP is not part of the BP148 program.

Special Program Requirements: You are required to meet a number of pre-placement requirements prior to being eligible to undertake placement.  Further information is available on MyRMIT.

Year One of Program

Corequisites:

RADI1125 Introduction to Medical Radiations and ONPS2343 Medical Radiations Technology 1

RADI1186 Introduction to Radiation Therapy and ONPS2344 Medical Radiations Technology 2

 

Prerequisites:

BIOL2281 - Must have satisfactorily completed BIOL2280

RADI1154 - Must have satisfactorily completed RADI1125

ONPS2344 - Must have satisfactorily completed ONPS2343 and RADI1125

RADI1186- Must have satisfactorily completed RADI1125 and BIOL2280

 

To complete the core clinical components of the program students must hold a Working with Children Check and a National Police Check, as well as meet a number of Immunisation and Compliance requirements.  Students must take action to satisfy these requirements immediately following enrolment.  Please note that a full course of Immunisations can take up to 7 months to complete.
