Year One of Program

If you are a student commencing first year of an Engineers Australia accredited higher education postgraduate engineering coursework degree from Semester 1 2024, the Engineering Professional Practice (EPP) module is a requirement for graduation.

Exemptions:

  1. Students who commenced an RMIT postgraduate engineering coursework degree before Semester 1 2024 are exempt from undertaking the EPP module as a requirement for graduation but may opt into the module.
  2. Students who articulate with credits into higher year levels of an RMIT postgraduate engineering coursework degree in Semester 1 2024 and will graduate in 2024 are exempt from undertaking the EPP module as a requirement for graduation but may opt into the module.

The EPP module is ongoing throughout your degree, providing continuous development and requiring you to complete 210 hours of engineering-related activities. The total hours can comprise a combination of prior engineering work, other current work, volunteering, roles in clubs, organisations and events, and professional development activities.

Completing the EPP module involves logging professional practice activities and providing a reflection response on learning to showcase your sound proficiencies in engineering knowledge, applications of engineering processes, professional skills and values that align with the competencies expected from a professional engineer in the workplace.

The online dashboard to submit your activities will be available from March 2024 in the School of Engineering Masters by Coursework Canvas shell (student log in required) https://rmit.instructure.com/courses/89127
