Purpose of the Program

This program will give you theoretical and technical knowledge of specific areas such as product development, supply chain, marketing, CAD/IT, fashion materials, digital strategies for fashion, buying and merchandise planning.

You will learn to research, analyse, interpret and transmit solutions to unpredictable and sometimes complex problems. This learning will be applied through project work, case studies and practical assignments. You will also learn how to make judgements and work autonomously with defined responsibility before you apply and implement any actions or recommendations in fashion and textiles business environments. Your experience in taking an active role in industry projects will help you develop work-ready capabilities and skills to promote yourself to prospective employers or potential clients in the local or global context.

In your second year, you will undertake a capstone experience in "The Retail Initiative" (TRI) within GRAP2443 Fashion and Textiles Industry Research and GRAP2444 Fashion Apparel Product Development. This experience will enable you to synthesise and integrate your knowledge, connect theory and practice, and holistically demonstrate the program learning outcomes.

This program will also prepare you for career paths that include a range of areas such as Product Development, Merchandise Management, Merchandise Planning, Allocation Analyst, Retail Management, Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Fashion Marketing and Fashion Logistics. This program will also prepare you to continue into higher education studies to further your exploration of concepts and research.
