Our approach to learning and teaching incorporates design studio, lecture, computer laboratory activities, excursions, and the use of face-to-face, online and other flexible delivery methods. The design studio approach simulates the practice in industry and allows for focused and guided technical and skill development alongside conceptual, analytical and theoretical exploration.
In first year you will focus on building skills and knowledge and the activities will include a range of exercises and projects, leading on to more involved industry style briefs. In second year you will complete more complex briefs that reflect industry practice. Throughout the program you will be given individual briefs as well as group projects.
Assessment is designed to give you opportunities to demonstrate what you have learnt and that you are able to apply knowledge and skills at an appropriate level and in a relevant environment. As an independent learner, it is expected that you will take responsibility to seek feedback from your peers, teachers and industry partners to develop your capabilities.
Your assessment in this program will include all or some of the following: briefs and design projects, investigative reports and proposals, reflective journals, and verbal and visual presentations.
