The Program develops the following Program Learning Outcomes for Bachelor of Science (Biotechnology):

PLO 1: Understanding science:

  • Demonstrate a coherent understanding of biotechnological sciences by articulating the methods of science and explaining why current biotechnology knowledge is both contestable and testable through further inquiry.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role and relevance of biotechnology in society.
  • You will demonstrate a coherent understanding of biotechnological sciences by explaining the role and relevance of biotechnologys in society.

PLO-2: Scientific knowledge

  • Exhibit depth and breadth of biotechnology knowledge by demonstrating well-developed understanding of biotechnological sciences.
  • Exhibit depth and breadth of biotechnology knowledge by demonstrating knowledge that biotechnological sciences have interdisciplinary connections with other sciences.

PLO-3: Inquiry and Problem Solving

  • Plan and carry out a research project under supervision, showing the development of some capacity for independent work.
  • Gather, critically review and synthesise information relevant to a scientific inquiry or research project.
  • Choose appropriate tools and methods to solve scientific problems within your area of specialization.
  • Well-developed problem solving skills, applying your knowledge and using your ability to think analytically and creatively.
  • Ability to accurately record, analyse, interpret and critically evaluate your research findings.

PLO-4: Communication

  • Effectively communicating scientific results, information, or arguments using a range of modes (oral, written, visual) for a variety of purposes and audiences.
  • Communicate the solution to a problem or the results of a scientific investigation using appropriate methods for different audiences.

  5. Reflect on performance feedback to identify and action strategies for improvement
  6. Communicate business data and concepts to professionals and non-professionals in diverse contexts
