As an employed apprentice, this qualification allows you to specialise in a number of plumbing streams.
There are 2 options offered by R.M.I.T:
1. In the general plumber program, you specialise in 5 streams: gasfitting, water, sanitary, roofing and drainage.
2. If you or your employer chooses the mechanical plumber program, you specialise in 6 streams: gasfitting, water, sanitary, roofing, drainage and mechanical.
By successfully completing the Certificate lll in Plumbing, you are eligible to apply for registration with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA).
(Note: To obtain a 'restricted split systems air conditioning refrigerant handling licence', you need to enrol in the MEM20105 Certificate ll in Engineering at R.M.I.T, and demonstrate competency in this qualification before you can apply for this licence through ARC).

Once you have successfully completed the 'CPC32413 Cert III in Plumbing', you are eligible to apply for registration with the Australian Building Authority (VBA). Please contact the VBA at http://www.vba.vic.gov.au/ for more information on the requirements for registration.
You may continue your studies at RMIT by enrolling in the 'CPC40912 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services'. Completing the Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services prepares you to succeed in obtaining your plumbing licences through the VBA. Please contact the VBA at http://www.vba.vic.gov.au/ for more information on the requirements for licencing.

On successful completion of this program, you will be eligible to receive the nationally endorsed 'CPC32413-
Certificate lll in Plumbing' qualification.
Once you have successfully completed this qualification, you can apply directly to the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) for registration subject to meeting their requirements.

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees. Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
