Approach to learning and assessment

The program creates a range of opportunities for you to apply your knowledge and skills. You will participate in learning activities including scenarios, case studies, role plays, online practice tools, group discussions and projects, practical demonstration, reflective journals and simulations of real-life job assignments. Other activities will include interactive e-learning, learner directed reading and practice, and online and library research.

Successful completion of this program requires you to demonstrate that you are competent in 12 units of competency. For learning and assessment purposes these units of competency have been placed into clusters or are delivered as individual units.

  • written work such as questions and answers, assessment reports and self reflections
  • quizzes
  • delivery of presentations
  • oral interviews and interpreting demonstrations
  • class observation and peer review.

If you have a long-term medical condition, disability and/or other form of disadvantage it may be possible to negotiate to vary aspects of the learning or assessment methods. You can contact the Program Coordinator or the Equitable Learning Service Unit (https://www.rmit.edu.au/students/support-and-facilities/student-support/equitable-learning-services) if you would like to find out more.

If you have already developed areas of skill and knowledge included in this program (for example, through prior studies or work experience), you can apply for credit once you have enrolled in this program. There is information on the RMIT University website about how to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) https://www.rmit.edu.au/students/student-essentials/enrolment/apply-for-credit
