Approach to learning and assessment
After you are enrolled, you will be able to logon to the RMIT Course Guide system to access the learning methodology and assessment procedures for each course.
You will participate in your learning experience through:
- structured lectures
- tutorials
- practical / laboratory exercises based on industry examples
- simulated work / industry related projects
- face to face and online student-centred learning,
- hands-on practice
- Work integrated learning (WIL) along with project-based learning
Face to Face, online (CANVAS) delivery using collaborative ultra, laboratory exercises, project-based learning and written reports and online assessments are used to facilitate training and learning.
Assessment for this program will be Competency-based. Assessment may include:
- practical / written assessments
- presentations
- team or individual work-simulated projects
Overall training is highly practical oriented including labs, workshop and projects and closely simulated to Industry 4.0 manufacturing environment.

RMIT University is committed to providing you with an education that strongly links formal learning with workplace experience or simulation. You will be delivered 200 hours of project based learning in a safe Industry 4.0 manufacturing environment.
RMIT is fully equipped with latest FESTO mini factory incorporating Bosch industry 4.0 solution for end to end manufacturing and hosted in RMIT’s Advanced Manufacturing Precinct. This Precinct in building 55 is a simulated manufacturing site and you will complete project in real workplace simulated environment.
The project work will provide you all the skills and knowledge required to work in the Industry 4.0 manufacturing industry. Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is delivered to you through this project. Industry Advisory Committee will validate project design and assessment every year to ensure latest industrial practices are incorporated in project delivery and assessment.
