Approach to learning and assessment

Classes are interactive and give you many opportunities to discuss ideas and practice skills. You will participate in class learning activities including: analysis of case studies and scenarios, role plays, group discussions and pair work, simulations of real-life job assignments. Other activities will include: interactive e-learning, learner directed reading and practice, online and library research, and simulated interpreting activities. 

Successful completion of this program requires you to demonstrate that you are competent in 15 units of competency. For learning and assessment purposes these units of competency have been placed into clusters or are delivered as individual units.

Each unit/course has their assessment schedules and assessment tools. Assessment occurs throughout the program and includes, but is not limited to:

  • written work such as questions and answers, writing assessment reports, reflective journals. 
  • delivery of presentations 
  • practical demonstrations
  • role plays

Program transition plan

The PSP60912 Advanced Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE-English) will be replaced by PSP60922 Advanced Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE-English).

This is the result of national changes to this qualification, which include changes to some of the courses in the program. 

If you complete all the requirements of your current PSP60912 Advanced Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE-English), you will be eligible to graduate with the PSP60922 Advanced Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE-English) qualification.  

If you are unable to complete this program in the required timeframe, we will support you to transfer to the new PSP60922 Advanced Diploma of Interpreting (LOTE-English).
