Approach to learning and assessment

In this program you will be able to engage in a variety of learning activities including online group discussions, problem-based learning activities and reflection on practice. Alongside the explorations of theory and practice within the learning group you will need to familiarise yourself with the relevant literature, test out ideas in relation to your practice and engage in discussion with your peers and the course convenor. You are encouraged to keep a learning journal which allows you to consider the implications of reading and class activities for your practice.

Assessment tasks are designed to enhance your ability to critically analyse your existing approach to learning and teaching in relation to educational literature and empirical evidence, propose strategies for improved course design and teaching and communicate ideas for learning design to colleagues. Assessment types include reflective journals, curriculum design applications tasks, the implementation of an action research cycle, and verbal presentations.

If you have a long term medical condition and/or disability it may be possible to negotiate to vary aspects of the learning or assessment methods. You can contact the program coordinator or the Equity & Disability Resource Centre if you would like to find out more.
