Purpose of the Program

The Graduate Certificate in Project Management is designed to enable you to develop your critical knowledge of project management theories and concepts and apply these across a range of project management professions. This program emphasises the application of theoretical knowledge to practice and is designed to build your capability to respond to current and emerging issues, trends and management practices. Upon graduation with a Graduate Certificate in Project Management you will be able to work as a project management professional and apply your capability and expertise to diverse organisations and industries, including construction and property. This program will provide you with a foundation to further develop your project management capability through your professional practice and/or further study.

Articulation and pathways

Pathways refer to related programs for which you may be eligible once you have graduated from your current program.  Successful completion of this program provides a pathway into the Graduate Diploma in Project Management. Upon successful completion of this program you may be eligible to undertake further studies in related programs at RMIT University.

Entrance requirements

Entrance Requirements

Applicants must have one of the following:

  • An advanced diploma plus five years relevant work experience
  • A bachelor degree in any discipline plus three years relevant work experience
  • A bachelor degree in a related discipline

In addition, students must satisfy one of the following English requirements:

IELTS of 6.5+ (no band less than 6.0)
TOEFL – Paper based = 580+ (TWE 4-5+)
TOEFL – Computer based = 237+ (TWE 4.5+)
ELICOS – EAP Advanced
RMIT English Worldwide (REW) - Advanced

External accreditation and industry links

There are currently no professional bodies which accredit the Graduate Certificate in Project Management (GradCertPM) program in Vietnam.

Students of the Graduate Certificate in Project Management are eligible to apply for student membership of the Project Management Institute (PMI).  www.pmi.org/.

Graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Project Management are eligible to apply for professional membership of the Project Management Institute.  www.pmi.org/.

Students and graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Project Management are eligible to apply to the Project Management Institute (PMI) for Project Management Professional Certification (PMP). www.pmi.org/.

Student expenses and charges in addition to fees

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees.  Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
