The Graduate Certificate of Commerce is an early exit point for those enrolled in the Master of Commerce. The program aims to broaden knowledge and skills for students entering with a qualification in an unrelated discipline, while students from a related discipline will deepen their existing knowledge and skills.
The Graduate Certificate in Commerce is an innovative postgraduate business program, which provides you with the conceptual business foundations and specialist discipline knowledge and applications necessary to work and operate effectively in a global business environment. This program provides many flexible opportunities to customise and adapt your coursework learning to match your specific interests and career aspirations or needs. The Graduate Certificate in Commerce aims to enhance and support your career in operational, managerial and consulting roles across a broad range of local and global enterprises and settings.
During this program you will be exposed to a variety of learning experiences and activities that will enhance your ability to interpret business information, prioritise and analyse complex issues, and to formulate plans, strategies, options and solutions. You will participate in face to face workshops and online activities, and engage in tasks requiring critical analysis and problem solving. Working in groups and individually, you will identify and analyse a range of strategic issues, and apply theory to cases and practical problems.

The GC104 Graduate Certificate of Commerce has been discontinued from Teaching Period 6 2023.
1. Students who successfully complete the RMIT Graduate Certificate in Commerce will articulate into the Master of Commerce and will be exempted from completing the four (4) discipline courses completed in the Graduate Certificate in Commerce and will be required to complete an additional twelve (12) courses (144 credit points) in order to qualify for the degree.
If you are planning to articulate into the MC205 Master of Commerce upon successful completion of the GC104 Graduate Certificate Gradaute Certificate of Commerce, you will have the option to articulate into MC205 Master of Commerce until Teaching Period 4 2024. Please refer to the MC205 Master of Commerce for more information.
2. GC104 Graduate Certificate in Commerce is also an exit award for the Master of Commerce. It is available to students upon successful completion of the four (4) courses (48 credit points) specified in the program structure.
Credit outside of the above arrangements will be assessed consistently with the RMIT University credit policy and procedures. If you wish to apply for a credit transfer/RPL, please refer to 'Apply for credit'.

Please note this program is currently being discontinued. The final intake for admission into GC104KP16 Graduate Certificate in Commerce was Teaching Period 6, 2023. The program will be taught out to current students until Teaching Period 3, 2024.
Academic Entrance requirements:
Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent or higher level qualification in any discipline.
Alternate Entry:
No prior academic qualifications but a minimum of 5 years full-time (FTE) work experience is required.
Applicants will be required to submit a CV.
Entrance requirements for international onshore applicants:

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees. Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
