The central objective of the program is to prepare you, as potential engineering managers and directors, for leadership roles in the management of engineering and technology-based organisations. Accordingly, you will be expected to demonstrate that you can meet the increasing demands by industry, government and the community for knowledgeable, creative and responsible leadership.
In order to achieve this, you will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of the many facets of contemporary management and the impact of new technology and technological change on engineering and technology based organisations. You will be exposed to real-world issues, problems and opportunities in such areas as: risk and feasibility studies, managing innovation, developing systems thinking approaches, quality management, environmental management systems, strategic planning, economic environments, performance management, international issues and technology management.
The program is delivered completely online, with no requirement for on-campus attendance or traditional exams. An online learning platform has been designed to make your learning experience simple and effective, and a personalised concierge service ensures that you get personalised support and guidance whenever you need it.
The Graduate Diploma in Engineering Management is an exit point program only from the Master of Engineering (Management). You may chose to exit with this award after completing the program structure outlined within this program guide.

Very Important: GD049KP16 Graduate Diploma in Engineering Management will be discontinued and will no longer accept new students from teaching period 1, 2024.
Entry into this program is through MC226 Master of Engineering (Engineering Management). This normally requires a relevant undergraduate degree. Students may exit the program with a Graduate Diploma in Engineering Management after completion of the courses listed in this program guide.

External Accreditation
The Graduate Diploma in Engineering Management is not accredited, although it has been developed to align with the Engineers Australia accreditation framework. Engineers Australia is the professional body responsible for the accreditation of higher education programs that prepare students to practise as professional engineers.
