Approach to learning and assessment

In the first semester of this program, you will work with your mentor or supervisor to develop learning contracts and undertake a performance review at regular intervals. During subsequent semesters, this review will also revisit all project and course work undertaken during the previous semester.

Further assessment of project work will occur at the end of each semester, in the form of a Project Progress Report.

Assessment of course work will occur as per the individual course arrangements.

If you have a long-term medical condition, disability and/or other form of disadvantage, it may be possible to negotiate to vary aspects of the learning or assessment methods. You can contact the program coordinator or the Disability Liaison Unit (www.rmit.edu.au/disability) if you would like to find out more.

Work integrated learning

RMIT University is committed to providing you with an education that strongly links formal learning with workplace experience.

As a student enrolled in this RMIT University program you will:

- undertake and be assessed on structured activities that allow you to learn, apply and demonstrate your professional or vocational practice

- interact with industry and community when undertaking these activities

- have the opportunity to complete these activities in real work contexts or situations where possible.

These interactions and the work context provide a distinctive source of feedback to assist your learning.

The following two Sustainability Project courses are based on the development of a learning contract. You will be supported in the development and implementation of your project/s by RMIT academic staff and supervisors/managers in your workplace in:

ENVI1186 - Sustainability Project 1

ENVI1187 - Sustainability Project 2

These courses are delivered involving RMIT academic staff and workplace.  They involve project work, which you are required to undertake with industry. You will be mentored through the project.

Note that it is not the responsibility of RMIT to locate employment for you.
