Learning outcomes

Program Learning Outcomes Statement

In this program you will learn and apply the critical thinking, and communication skills required of DSA Team Leaders in a variety of contemporary organisations. You will gain knowledge of the strategic, analytical and technological influences on data teams and technology. You will develop the decision-making capabilities required to manage people, teams and technology to maximise the value of data sets and apply this through a variety of activity-based learning experiences.

On the successful completion of this program you will be equipped to:

  1. Demonstrate effective collaborative and communication approaches in a range of contexts. 

  2. Integrate evidence-based frameworks of stakeholder engagement, project management and change management to lead data science projects.

  3. Evaluate strategic data science and analytics informed approaches to solve complex organisational problems in a changing environment. 

  4. Design and use governance and oversight processes to demonstrate ethical handling of data and regulatory compliance.

  5. Integrate specialist knowledge of common data management approaches, analytical programs, tools and outputs, to select and design analysis approaches that support business objectives.

  6. Identify strategies to leverage data for analysis and make proposals to solve for business priorities.

  7. Use narrative structures to present complex analysis outputs logically and cohesively in a variety of contexts and formats. 

  8. Critically reflect on your own ethical practice, and capacity to support your own and your teams continual professional development to become life-long learners.
