Learning outcomes

Statement of capabilities

The Master of Supply Chain and Logistics Management has been designed to develop the following generic graduate capabilities:

  • Knowledge-specific capabilities: these include concepts, principles, theories, methods and contemporary practices central to the logistics and supply chain profession. 
  • The ability to contextualise and apply these knowledge capabilities in different situations is emphasised;
  • Problem-solving capabilities: the focus is to develop the ability to think critically and creatively and to be analytical, methodological and innovative in approaching problems;
  • Generic business and management skills: the focus is to develop capabilities in organizational and interpersonal leadership and in project and change management to prepare graduates to meet effectively and efficiently the key challenges of the evolving business environment;
  • Research capabilities: the emphasis is to develop capabilities in conducting literature reviews based on specific research problems or questions, in analysing empirical data, in logically and systematically organising research data and  information generated from research, and in efficiently and effectively communicating to interested parties; 
  • Communication and interpersonal capabilities:  these include  interpreting and communicating ideas related to the principles of logistics and supply chain management, negotiating contracts  and resolving conflicts in contract management, writing research/project reports, discussing and defending opinions and views, working in teams and understanding group dynamics; and
  • Socially aware and responsible practice capabilities: the focus is to develop an ability to engage with business activities in socially responsible and ethical manner.
