Program Learning Outcomes Statement

As a graduate of this program, you will have the knowledge and skills necessary to practice as an OHS professional. On successful completion of this program, you will have achieved the following Program Learning Outcomes:

1. Understanding the OHS Body of Knowledge

1.1 You will demonstrate an advanced and integrated understanding of the OHS Body of Knowledge allowing you to reflect critically on OHS theory and professional practice.

1.2 You will demonstrate knowledge of research principles and methods for the maintenance and expansion of your knowledge base

2. Advanced skills to critically analyse and solve problems in OHS

2.1 You will have skills to investigate, analyse and synthesise OHS information, problems, concepts and theories.

2.2 You will have skills to generate OHS solutions and evaluate their effectiveness.

3. Application of knowledge and skills

3.1 You will be able to demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills with creativity and initiative to new situations in professional practice.

3.2 You will be able to demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills with high level of personal autonomy and accountability.

3.3 You will be able to demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills to plan and execute a substantial research-based project or capstone project.

4 Communication

4.1 You will have communication and research skills to interpret OHS issues and justify OHS decisions for specialist and non-specialist audiences.

4.2 You will have technical and communication skills to design, implement and evaluate developments in OHS that influence OHS professional practice or scholarship.
