Purpose of the Program

The Master of International Business is designed to prepare you for a career in international corporate, government or not-for-profit organisations.  The program builds the knowledge and skills necessary for critical and creative approaches to international business by providing advanced study in contemporary international business theory and practice that is supported by ethical and sustainable business decision-making. It will also provide you with the capacity to address the international regulation of business and critically evaluate the impacts of decisions and practice through case studies and interactive and experiential learning activities.

The capstone experience relates to the understanding and analysis of international business from a sustainable perspective. This program comprises of courses that provide special emphasis on sustainability and sustainable international business.

The course on BUSM4486 International Strategy has specially been designed to introduce such experience.

Articulation and pathways

1. Students admitted with a degree or higher level qualification in business (or a related discipline) will be exempted from completing the four (4) Business Enabling courses, and will be required to complete twelve (12) courses (144 credit points) in order to qualify for the degree.

2. Students who successfully complete the RMIT Graduate Certificate in International Business will be exempted from completing the four (4) Business Enabling courses and the four (4) discipline courses completed in the Graduate Certificate in International Business, and will be required to complete the eight (8) courses (96 credit points) in order to qualify for the degree.

Credit will be assessed consistently with the RMIT University credit policy and procedures.

Academic Entrance requirements

Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent in Business (or a related discipline);

or

Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline 

Work Experience

Required: Minimum 3 years Full Time Equivalent (FTE) management experience.

Applicants will be required to submit a CV.

or

Successful completion of the RMIT Graduate Certificate in International Business;

or

Australian Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters degree or equivalent in Business (or a related discipline).

External accreditation and industry links

This program is currently not accredited by professional bodies. Some professional bodies may offer qualification recognition post-graduation on a case by case basis. Students and/or graduates should contact the professional body of interest directly to seek advice on recognition of their qualification.

A network of industry links supports this program. Management practitioners, lecturers from industry, guest speakers and industry-relevant projects underpin the work integrated learning compoments of this program. The School's industry advisory board ensures current standards and practice are reflected in this program.

Student expenses and charges in addition to fees

Once you are enrolled as a student in this program you will need to allow for expenses other than university tuition fees.  Additional expenses may relate to the purchase of lecture notes, textbooks, stationery, consumables such as printer paper, fees levied by commercial internet service providers for internet access outside of the university campus, and other relevant costs.
