Purpose of the Program

Upon graduating with a Master of Applied Science from RMIT University in the School of Health Sciences you will be able to contribute to the generation of new knowledge vital to the growth and development of the Chinese medicine profession. Graduates are qualified to undertake independent clinical or experimental research in relevant fields.

Entrance requirements

As an applicant for the Masters Degree by Research you must have:

  • Qualified for a first degree from RMIT with at least a credit average in the final undergraduate year; or
  • Qualified for another recognised award deemed to be equivalent in character and standard to a first degree from RMIT with at least a credit average in the final undergraduate year; or
  • Produced evidence of appropriate experience which satisfies the College/School that the applicant has developed knowledge of the field of study sufficient to undertake the proposed program.

International onshore applicants will also be required to meet the following English Language Requirements:

One of the following:

  • IELTS - 6.5+ (no band less than 6.0)
  • TOEFL - Paper Based = 580+ (TWE 4.5+)
  • TOEFL - Computer Based = 237+ (TWE 4.5+)
  • REW - English for Academic Purposes Advanced 1 & 2

These entrance requirements are the minimum academic standard you must meet in order to be eligible to apply for the program. Some research programs at RMIT also have extra requirements that may be requested from you as part of the selection process such as:

  • an interview
  • a test
  • and/or folio.
