Course Description

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to participate in workplace occupational health and safety (OHS) processes to protect workers own health and safety, and that of others.

Assessment in this course is determined via a combination of assessment strategies which will include:

Assessment Tasks

To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard. You will receive feedback on all assessment.

Assessment task 1 - This task requires you to demonstrate a range of OH&S procedures in a simulated working environment while being observed. The assessor will use a observation checklist to ensure you have done all the required steps to demonstrate competency.

Assessment Task 2 - You will be asked questions about the OH&S procedures you demonstrated

Assessment Task 3 - You will complete a booklet of individual tasks. This booklet will be done in class over the duration of the course (12 weeks) and must be submitted at the end of the course.

Assessment 4 - You will complete an online simulated workplace activity.
