Learning Outcomes

This course will provide the learner to develop the following Knowledge & Skills:
• Occupational Health and Safety - Residential. Explain the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its application to residential site safety.
• The knowledge of OH&S Act first aid (emergency) requirements for residential building sites.
• Safety Procedures/Meetings/Committees - Residential. Implement safety procedures on residential sites.
• Fire Safety - Residential. Describe a procedure to implement the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation in regard to fire safety on residential sites.
• Site Planning Requirements - Residential. Implement the site planning requirements of the OH&S in regard to residential building sites.
• Work Area Requirements - Residential. Implement the requirements of OH&S for work areas on residential building sites.
• Employer/Employee Responsibility - Residential. Demonstrate a knowledge of the employer/employee responsibilities in respect to OH&S on residential building sites.
• Regulations - Residential. Apply the regulatory requirements of the OH&S Act and Construction Safety
• Act for residential site safety.
• Accident Reporting/Prevention - Residential. Carry out accident reporting and prevention procedure for residential sites.
• Statistics - Residential. Use the statistical analysis of occupational health and safety issues in identifying risks and training personnel on residential building sites.
• Plant and Equipment - Residential. Implement safety requirements for plant and equipment needed on residential sites.
