Course Description

In this course you will build on your learning from the Repair and Maintain Audiovisual Equipment course that you studied during semester 1. You will use your multi-meter to test, check and maintain typical items of audiovisual equipment .
The course also covers principles of electrical safety and an introduction to the practice of equipment Testing and Tagging.

Learning Outcomes

On satisfactory completion of this course you will be able to:
1. Use a digital multimeter and electronic cable tester to test fuses, leads and power cables.
2. Use a digital multimeter to test and check the amplifier circuits that you constructed last semester during the soldering course.
3. Undertake basic AV equipment fault-finding.
4. Understand the principles of electrical safety and the electrical equipment Test & Tag process.
(A Test & Tag qualification is highly valued by AV employers and the skills and knowledge that you will gain from this course will greatly assist you to complete a Test & Tag course.)
