Course Description

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to implement basic system administration tasks including security access, software licensing and system backups and restores. Students will need to determine and document various aspects such as security requirements and backup schedules in line with organisational guidelines. Procedures may be performed in a stand-alone or client-server environment.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment may incorporate a variety of methods including technical requirements documentation, homework, assignments, group and/or individual projects, and in class exercises, written tests, practical problem solving exercises, presentations, practical tests and a final exam.
