Course Description

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to complete detailed specifications for fashion designs to guide production.

3.2. Drawing/ sketch is produced on specification sheet.

3.3. Specification sheet is completed with all relevant information according to workplace practices.

Details of Learning Activities

In this course students will be assessed on:

  1. The development of a range of specification sheets to fashion industry standards(Individual progressive assessment), and 
  2. Producing a specification pack based on a design brief for a garment in an industry project, which will be presented to a panel at the end of the year . (Group assessment).

Overview of Assessment

In this course you will be assessed on the development of a range of specification sheets and a specification pack produced for a garment in an industry project.


Assessment Tasks

Regular class attendance is necessary to demonstrate an undersanding of each element.  You are expected to competently complete all practical class work, which will be assessed individually, and a group assessment task based on an industry brief.

Specific information relating to the assessment task will be given in class time.

1.  Garment specification - Individual class project. (Progressively checked)80%

2.  Industry Project. Group Assessment. 20%

You will be required to attend,  participate and complete each task to the required standard in order to pass this unit.
