Course Description

This unit describes the knowledge and skills required to work with individuals with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), with regard for their needs and within the context of support work.

Overview of Assessment

A workplace assessment appointment will be undertaken to allow students to present and discuss workplace evidence: Based on the individual student’s knowledge, skills and experience: an individual learning plan will be negotiated and developed. Students may be offered a number of assessment tasks and learning strategies such as workshop attendance, case studies, research project work and workplace activities and support to meet their assessment needs for this course (unit of competency).
