This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to establish, maintain and evaluate the organisation’s occupational health and safety (OHS) policies, procedures and programs in the relevant work area in accordance with OHS legal requirements

Assessment Task 1: Online Quiz (via Blackboard)
You will be required to complete an online assessment on RMIT’s Blackboard interface, on or before week 3 of the course.
If your attempt is not satisfactory, you may re-sit the test until you achieve the required pass mark of 150
The assessment covers key areas OH&S legislation as relevant to the entertainment and media production industries.

Assessment Task 2: Completed JSA (Job Safety Analysis) Form and supporting photographic evidence
Part A: JSA (Submitted via Google Community)
You are required to complete a JSA (Job Safety Analylis) report of a workplace, or simulated workplace, in the the supplied form:

In the JSA you will need to identify a minimum of 5 (five) potential OHS / WHS hazards, and document them in your report, addressing the following four areas:
ACTIVITY - What the task that is being completed?
HAZARDS - What is the hazard you have identified?
RISK CONTROL MEASURES - Propose potential solutions to deal with the identified risk.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE? - Identify who must carry out the risk control measure.
Part B: JSA Support Photos/ Evidence (Submitted via Google Community)
You must then take a photo of each one of the potential hazards to provide evidence of risks identified in your JSA, and submit them with your report.
These images serve as evidence of the risks / hazards.

ASSESSMENT DELIVERABLES
Assessment Task 1
For assessment 1, the quiz is available on Blackboard.
Note the quiz is timed.
Assessment Task 2
For assessment 2, the submission required will be (A) a completed JSA and (B) a minimum of five photographs which serve as supporting evidence for the JSA.
The report and images must be uploaded to the Google+ Community for the unit, allocating them to the category “Assessment” as you do.
The submission may be as document, PDF or even image, however note the image file would need to be sufficient resolution to be clearly legible.
All other posts such as queries and discussions, will be categorised by you as “Discussion”.
For assessment 2B, a minimum of five photo images must be uploaded in order of risk number for assessor and cohort to be able to easily identify which hazard eavch photo relates to.
This will be uploaded into the same post as the JSA document.
We suggest using the Soldering class component of the unit “Mix Live Audio” EMPL5641c as your simulated workplace, which will allow you complete the assessments 2 and 3 for this unit.
Alternatively you may choose an alternative by agreement with teacher. For example practical placement at live performance / event venues, also within Mix Live Audio.
