Course Description

In this course you will develop skills and knowledge required to research light and colour in a variety of art methods and settings. This course encourages you to develop your own ideas and concepts about the use of light and colour for integration into a body of creative work.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
•Explore the possibilities of colour and light through experimentation with art making techniques and media
•Extend your understanding of the unique possibilities with art making

You will gain an understand the different art making process and the relevant OH&S requirements.
It is expected you will determine and organise resource requirements for new work, develop research and refine a conceptual vision for a body of work.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment for this course is on going throughout the semester and requires participation in workshops. The demonstrated ability to research and experiment with techniques to produce art works will be assessed by participation in the workshops which is mandatory. 

You will demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding of the processes, skills and techniques of the methods of artv making which you are introduced to.


Your knowledge and understanding of course content is assessed through completion of a body of work that demonstrates concept development, understanding of materials and adhering to the guidelines of working in a studio.

Appropriate support and resource material including a visual diary should also be submitted for assessment.
