Course Description

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to work in a team environment in the film, broadcasting and digital media industries.

Performance Criteria:

1.1 Discuss and agree on own tasks and responsibilities in ways that promote good working relationships.

Assessment Tasks

Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative.
Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered an essential building blocks for the more substantial summative assessment tasks. Summative assessment tasks in this unit are graded.

To demonstrate competency in this course, you will need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard.

Formative Assessment

1. Notes from 4 guest speaker discussions.
The sessions are designed for you to gather information about the special guest speaker, their career in the audiovisual industry and for you to gain a deeper understanding of the industry itself. You will have a question sheet to assist you and you are required take notes at each session which your peers or teacher will review. This assessment will be conducted in weeks 2 – 5.

2. Employment blog.
Over 2 months you are expected to maintain a Blog that demonstrates your ability to source audiovisual related employment opportunities and conduct related discussions. It is due to be completed in week 5.

Summative Assessment

3. Case study.
You are required to put together a Case Study that demonstrates your ability to identify a particular Audiovisual Company (or Department) and its role within the Audiovisual Industry. It is due in TAFE Week 9, Semester 1.

Special consideration Policy (Late Submission)
All assessment tasks are required to be completed to a satisfactory level. If you are unable to complete any piece of assessment by the due date, you will need to apply for an extension.
