Course Description

This unit deals with the cultural awareness required
for effective communication and cooperation with
persons of diverse cultures

Work will be within a prescribed range of functions
involving known routines and procedures with some
accountability for the quality of outcomes
The workplace context may be:
 Specific community
 Community or regional service
 Department of a large institution or organisation
 Specialised service or organisation
Application of this unit should be contextualised to
reflect any requirements, issues and practices
specific to each workplace

Students access BlackBoard and printout or scan to a USB the PowerPoint’s from the facilitator and the Guest Speaker.
 

Interview patient against a set of criteria

Oral presentation allows student group to share information of various cultures

Please note: The Third Party Evidence Document has been designed for workplace implementation. Completion of the document provides a student with the opportunity to gain constructive feedback from Supervisors/mentors and allows the Supervisor/mentor to evaluate the student’s progress and provide the RMIT teacher/assessor with any relevant feedback as to the progress and application and development of the student’s skills and knowledge in safe work practices.

The Interview & written report, the oral presentaion and the third party evidence documents are aligned directly with the desired learning outcomes of this unit of competency and as such will provide students with study direction and focus in work based training.

Non completion or non-submission of compulsory tasks
Failure to complete any or all of the compulsory tasks listed above will prevent the student from achieving a CA (competency achieved) result for unit HLTDA306D. This will result in the student not completing the unit successfully. “NYC” (not yet competent) will be recorded and re-enrolment will be required to continue the unit/program. Fees will be incurred.
Please note: A second opportunity for assessment will not be granted unless the student has applied for and been granted special consideration as per RMIT Assessment Policy.
