To provide the learner with the theoretical knowledge necessary to implement a Quality Assurance System in a small or medium sized firm in the building and construction industry

Learning Outcomes
This course will provide the learner to develop the knowledge & skills and be able to:
• Describe Quality Management as it relates to the building and construction industry.
• Outline the content of the Australian Standards related to Quality Assurance.
• Implement and use a quality assurance system for a construction company.
• Describe the requirements of a Quality Audit and the essentials of a quality certification.
• Describe the relationship of quality assurance to other management activities including OH&S, Project Management, Time Management and Strategic Planning.
• Describe the concept of Total Quality Management and its relationship to Quality Assurance.

The assessment is done through a combination of:
- Assignment
- Learning outcome test
- Written examination
