Learning Outcomes

This course provides the learners the opportunity to gain relevant Building Industry’s practical experience in some of the following areas:
• Construction and Structures – including: erecting medium size residential scale buildings, industrial or commercial buildings and monitoring workmanship standards.
• Estimating and Costing – including: scheduling, preparing quantities and monitoring cost.
• Management - including: complying with regulatory requirements for company management practice and procedure, preparing report, record keeping and administering contract.
• Supervision - including: Conducting inspection, complying with OH&S requirements, the scope of the builders’ responsibility and liability
• Plan Reading and Drafting – including: reading plans and specifications, detail sketching.
• Services- including: dealing with statutory authorities in relation to proposed building works.
