Course Description

The purpose of this course is for students to synthesise the technical and conceptual skills acquired in previous photography courses to produce an individual body of work that applies the knowledge of photography as a fine art discipline. Students also participate in the planning and organisation of an exhibition of works. This course focuses on digital practice, with camera use and lighting techniques incorporated into digital studio outcomes.

Learning Outcomes


1. Use and select appropriate equipment, materials and advanced techniques in the production of a personal body of work.
2. Document contemporary issues and theory in the arts
3. Use photography effectively as a form of visual expression and articulation.
4. Consolidate ideas to produce a personal body of work for exhibition.
5. Promote oneself through setting up an exhibition.


Details of Learning Activities

There will be a variety of learning activities which includes:

Workshops with practical demonstrations, group tutorials, individual tutorials, lectures and excursion. There will also be time dedicated to studio work  in a self directed  and supervised capacity.
