Course Description
This is a professional practice course which covers the development of technical and conceptual skills required to work as a practising designer. It also deals with communicating effectively and working strategically to achieve planned outcomes as a designer.

Overview of Assessment
The assessment will be as follows:
- Research projects
- Practical projects
- Presentations
Students will be tutored with a verbal and/or written evaluation of their progress, within class time and upon the submission of each project.
A final assessment of Competency Achieved or Not Yet Competent will be given at the end of the course when students will submit all completed work. A graded assessment will also occur for this course.
To be deemed competent students must demonstrate competence in all Learning Elements and related Performance Criteria.
This course is co-assessed with MANU 5733 Produce a typographic image, MANU 5734 Compose & evaluate typography, MANU 5735 Output images to film and paper, GRAP 9399 Finished Art 2, GRAP 9400 Finished Art 3.
