Course Description

This course covers the skills and knowledge required to make 3-dimensional (3D) scale models in response to specifications, which may be part of a brief. The focus of this unit is on the technical skills required to make accurate scale models to designed specifications.

Overview of Assessment

Students will produce a series of models:
1. Model of existing designer/maker
2. To present two design concepts for the products to be produced in the modules Basic Furniture Design & Construction (Stand Alone Item) and Introduction to Furniture Design & Construction (Small Item). These models will be produced in conjunction with work produced in the competency Apply the design process to 3D work in response to a brief.
