Course Description

This course introduces students to the dynamics of the “three-cornered situation”, where they are made aware of the particular ethical parameters and professional “codes of conduct” pertaining to paraprofessional interpreting practice. They will also be introduced to the concept of “institutional imperatives” under which client/s may be operating. Therefore they will develop abilities in dealing with “management” issues, especially relating to working with clients; initiating actions to anticipate problems, resolving ethical dilemmas and organising time and task efficiently.
