Course Description

This unit relates to the basic office administration duties and precautions, which ha re expected to be performed by a draftsperson in an office, working under limited supervision.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment in this course is progressive and will require demonstrated competence in one or more of the following ways:

Practical projects, visual and oral presentations, written assignments and written research reports.

All assignments will have set due dates which must be adhered to. Late submission of work will carry a penalty but may be considered by prior arrangement if supported with a medical certificate or other appropriate documentation.


Assessment Tasks

1. Compile a glossary of technical terms  a minimum of 60 words . Then write a brief 2 – 3 line definition of each term.

2. Prepare a curriculum vitae for yourself, including a folio of five examples of your work. Prepare a job application letter for a position for which you are qualified.

3.  Compile a file of completed forms for  Building and Planning Permits for a site . Explain the use of each form in the permit process. Prepare a time bar chart of the permit process  fully sourced in footnotes.
