Course Description

This course employs three computer applications – Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access in order to solve client problems. Students will be presented with scenarios that will include the creation of macros and templates in each application. Students will also be required to provide training for their creations.

Pre-requisites: Operate Computing Packages ICAITU006B COSC5744C
OR, equivalent intermediate level knowledge of Word, Excel and Access.

Overview of Assessment

Assessment will incorporate a variety of methods including macro and templates requirements documentation, homework and in class exercises, written tests, practical problem solving exercises and practical tests. Students are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher during class exercises to ensure that competency standards are being met. Regular feedback on work will be provided to learners during the course.
