Learning Outcomes
Activities are designed to enable learners to interpret complex design ranges, then to develop accurate patterns according to the principles of good fit through to the development and presentation of a range of finished garments according to original design brief criteria. The course also covers the production of specifications using e commerce and off shore sources and production enterprises.
Details of Learning Activities
This course will enable the learner to develop skills in researching, designing and producing a range of garments in collaboration with an industry partner.
1. Research and develop a product/range to meet the industry specific brief
2. Consult with relevant industry group or client and define design through sketches, samples and discussion.
3. Cost the range/garments in conjunction with the production area using e commerce and off shore production resources
4. Interpret the design and construct the patterns and sample toile. Develop, and then complete the final patterns and garments.
5. Prepare and maintain reports and specifications in accordance with the project brief.
6. Communicate with team members and the industry group or client including the use of IT methods
