Course Description

This unit of competency is delivered in the class Design and Drawing 1.

This design course delivers the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to take a design concept or solution to the implementation stage and then to the final stage
Students will develop software skills in After Effects and Indesign. Many of the Software tutorials will be delivered online. The course will have a strong emphasis on creativity, and developing conceptual skills related
to good design practice. The Assessment tasks are based on the course competencies, student will need to complete all the required assessments in order to pass. Students will require a visual diary for this course.

This unit is co-delivered with Create Digital Visual Effects CUFANM402A, and assessed independently.

Attendance
TAFE teaching is based on practical, industry skills training. The attendance of all classes is necessary to receive the maximum benefit of the program. Each course is designed to increase skills and knowledge incrementally. This means that each lesson assumes the successful completion of previous lessons and exercises. If a student misses a lesson it is the student’s responsibility to catch up. Please be aware that as a TAFE student you are responsible for your own learning.
A roll will be taken at the commencement of each class so please ensure that you are on time. Late arrivals will be marked as late on the roll. Multiple late arrivals or multiple absences may result in an ‘At Risk of Failure’ letter being issued.

Please bring to EVERY class:
(FireWire cable , external hard disk drive, DVD- etc).
Please Note: It is the student’s responsibility to back up their work regularly.
Lost work is NOT an excuse for late assignments Backups

Assessment Task submission
Assessment tasks MUST be submitted on the due date during class, in person, to your teacher.
Assessment tasks can be submitted before the due date outside of class with the prior agreement of the teacher.

Students are to borrow cameras from technical services for the required Assessment tasks and class exercises. (please note cameras can only be booked for 24 hours from RMIT Technical services.
Firearms & Weapons
It is important to note that Students are not allowed to shoot video with armory related objects for example , guns, knives, spears,ect for OH&S reasons students are not to perform dangerous stunts. Refer to Victorian Police Film & Television Office.(film.tv@police.viv.gov.au)
