Course Description
This course describes the skills and knowledge required to develop artistic practice to produce a concept for a large scale or thematically connected public art work/s through the exploration and application of a range of advanced techniques. Public art in this context may be one piece of work or more than one piece.

Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes of the course sees you producing public art that incorporates a range of advanced techniques. The public artist would use a wide range of tools, equipment and materials. The public art would convey strong conceptual and theoretical development and a developing sense of the artists own voice. This work would usually be carried out independently although guidance would be available if required.

Overview of Assessment
Assessment may incorporate a range of methods to assess performance and the application of essential underpinning knowledge and skills and might include:
- Direct observation of public art work in progress, including exploration of and experimentation with techniques
- Written and/or oral questioning and discussion to assess knowledge and understanding and candidate’s intentions and work outcome
- Third-party reports from experienced practitioners.
- Completion of an art journal and/or portfolio
- including personal reflection and feedback from relevant others.
