Course Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to undertake a training needs analysis (TNA) to identify the training and assessment needs of an organisation.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:

. conduct a training needs analysis
. provide advice to the organisation about its training needs
Details of Learning Activities
As part of your program you will be directed to undertake a number of activities both during scheduled class time and outside of it. It is important that you complete all such activities in a timely manner as they are an important component of your program. Such activities will include but are not limited to the following:
- lectures
- group discussion
- teacher-directed group activities/projects
- work shopping of students’ own projects
- guest lecturers
- peer teaching
- class presentations
- research both online and other as required
- analysis/critique of suggested reading
- teacher directed activities/exercises
- self-directed study and activities
- class exercises to review discussions/lectures

will be handed out during class.
Overview of Assessment
During the program you will complete assessment tasks which are listed in detail at the beginning of each cluster. These tasks include:
- Workplace based projects
- Contributions to online discussion forums

Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course, you need to complete each one of the following pieces of
assessment to a satisfactory standard.
You will have to research, conduct and provide advice through two training needs analysis for one
or more organisations. You will have to demonstrate: the processes that were used to determine the
organisation’s needs; detail the research methods undertaken to identify suitable training and/or
assessment; show how you planned for the training needs analysis; and provide the client with
options, advice and recommendations.
