Course Description

In this course you will be required to establish professional practice goals and to determine how practice can be developed in a sustainable way. A sustainable practice is one that takes account of all aspects of sustainability – individual, social, environmental and economic.

Group Exhibition (Grad Show) 2015 Planning meetings/ work-shopping

In small groups  (3-5 people) establish a working committee and choose an area/task to manage/coordinate for your group exhibition.

This can include (but is not limited to):
-Sponsorship/ Fundraising
-Marketing/Advertising
-Social Media
-Event coordination
-Gallery management
-Finance management

Summatives

Summative 01 Part A: Produce a written report detailing your contribution to the planning of the 2015 group exhibition.

Summative 01 Part B: In your working committee group, produce a written report detailing your group’s planning /goals and outcomes for the 2015 graduate exhibition. Present your outcomes to the class as a 5-minute oral presentation.

The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstration and production. It is strongly advised that students attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum opportunity to gain the competency.

Work Placement

It is a requirement of this program that all students participate in authentic work related tasks. These may be either simulated or in a real work environment. On occasion, we are approached by industry and given opportunities for students to apply for short term placements. When these placement opportunities arise, students are required to negotiate the specific details with the relevant program coordinator or teacher. All industry placements require students, RMIT staff and host organisations to sign a written agreement prior to the commencement of the placement.
