Course Description
In this course you will be required to exploit creative and commercial opportunities as they arise from emerging trends in the photo imaging industry.

Assessment Tasks
Assessment tasks in this course are either formative or summative. Formative tasks provide the basis for ongoing feedback and can be considered essential building blocks for the more substantial summative assessment tasks. Summative assessment tasks in this unit are graded.

To demonstrate competency in this course, you need to complete each one of the following pieces of assessment to a satisfactory standard.
Formative Assessment
Task 1: Theme Paper - this task is in three parts – the research/planning, execution and completed image.
Research/Planning
This assessment is based on the research that you did in CUVPHI517A Research and exploit photo imaging trends . In particular, you are required to supply the six (6) images from your assessment in CUVPHI517A . They will provide the basis for your shoot in Emotive Lighting.
The first step is to discuss with your teacher the proposed shoot based around these images, covering:
Lighting techniques
Style
Format
This will be done in class on week one. You will be provided with feedback from your teacher and peers on your proposal.
Execution
Execute shoot in Emotive lighting (this class)
You will be assessed on your studio practice including:
set-up,
team work lighting techniques,
styling and
camera craft .
This will be done in the studio.
Produce one (1) image according to the brief “Paper”. You will be provided with feedback on your image from your teacher and your peers.
Task 2: Theme Food - this task is in three parts – the research/planning, execution and completed image.

You are require to submit your final images to the client for each of the three briefs; Paper, Food and Self portrait
Submit all 3 final images assessments as per specifications on the RMIT C5041 Server.

The major learning experience involves studio based exercises, demonstration and production. It is strongly advised that students attend all sessions in order to engage in the required learning activities, ensuring the maximum opportunity to gain the competency.
