Course Description

This unit covers the competency to produce drawings required in the construction of rural roads, to the Australian Standards of AS 1100.401 and ‘AUSROADS” publications: ‘Policy for the geometrical design of Rural roads’ and ‘Guide to the design of Intersections at Grade’.


Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

EDC040 – Perform measurements and layout tasks on construction sites
EDX060 – Prepare basic mechanical and civil engineering drawings to AS 1100

This unit will be assessed in the CAD laboratory using holistic assessment based on typical workplace activities as follows :
