Course Description

This unit covers the necessary skills and knowledge to operate a standard CAD software package, using basic features, in order to prepare simple engineering drawings to AS 1100


Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

EDX060 – Prepare basic mechanical and structural engineering drawings to AS 1100 (can be undertaken concurrently)
EDX150 – Use standard computer applications (can be undertaken concurrently)
This unit will be assessed in the classroom environment using holistic assessment based on typical workplace activities.
Assessment of this unit will involve completion of:
• A series of small assignments assessed in class and covering the basic elements of CAD drawing to produce drawings to industry standards.
• A 1 hour competency test at mid-semester and assessed in class.
